Challenges ahead

Today will begin another new chapter for Jona and me. We are driving to Melbourne this afternoon to check him into Melbourne Private with back surgery booked for tomorrow morning. The next week could see Jona being very ill from anasthetic but we are hopeful that he can be medicated appropriately. After that it will be a slow recover as he re-learns to use his lower half. In terms of the surgery, we both feel at peace. We've prayed a lot about this and truly believe that this is the direction the Lord wants us to take. It will be painful and difficult but we know we are not alone. The bonus is that Jona should be recovered before he meets Barney - and that will be wonderful!
